Barbara D. Beck will present, “Updating the Delaney Clause: Mode of Action Considerations for Carcinogens” at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting. The 2020 AAAS Annual Meeting will take place February 13-16 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington.
The institution of the Delaney Clause, more than a half century ago, occurred a time when understanding of chemical carcinogenesis was limited. A revised Delaney should consider the use of a threshold dose-response in setting permissible limits for animal carcinogens that operate via enhancement of cell proliferation. This talk takes place Sunday, February 16, from 10 – 11:30AM.
