NEWS ALERT

Tim Verslycke Elected to Serve as Vice President of the Newly Established International Board of Environmental Risk Assessors (IBERA)

June 2021

Gradient is pleased to announce that Tim Verslycke will serve as Vice President of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s (SETAC’s) newly established International Board of Environmental Risk Assessors (IBERA). Dr. Verslycke is also a founding member of IBERA.

SETAC, a not-for-profit, worldwide professional organization dedicated to the study, analysis, and solution of environmental problems, the management and regulation of natural resources, research and development, and environmental education, has announced the creation of an independent global environmental risk assessor certification program. Building on the successful SETAC Europe Certification of Environmental Risk Assessors (CRA) program established in 2015, the SETAC World Council recognized the needs of other geographic units and decided to form IBERA, a globalized program. IBERA was recently founded as a new, independent, not-for-profit entity, registered in Brussels, Belgium. IBERA will promote scientific progress in environmental risk assessment, encourage education and training, and establish an international certification program that will allow professionals to become certified specialists or diplomates in ecological risk assessment.

As Vice President, Dr. Verslycke will work with the other elected officers and other IBERA founding members and volunteers to implement the goals of the IBERA program.
