Awards and Announcements

Nima Afshar-Mohajer will be the guest editor of Atmosphere journal’s Special Issue on Air Pollution in Industrial Regions. Manuscript submission deadline is December 31, 2022.

Barbara D. Beck was awarded the Smith and Hook Distinguished Service Award by Society of Toxicology’s (SOT’s) Women in Toxicology Special Interest Group.

Ali Boroumand is now a registered professional engineer in MA.

Rachel Chang, Alexander Alverson, and Joel Cohen were awarded the Best Poster Award in the Medical Device and Combination Product Specialty at SOT Annual Meeting 2021 for “A Rubric for Identifying Potentially Genotoxic Polycyclic Amines and Derivation of a Chemical Class-Specific TTC.”

Julie C. Lemay was reelected to the Board of Health in Belmont, MA.

Charlotte Marsh is now a certified professional product steward (CPPS).

Nicole Olgun is now an external member of the Cancer, Reproductive, Cardiovascular, and Other Chronic Disease Prevention (CRC) Cross-Sector of the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA). Within NORA, she also serves on the Adverse Reproductive Outcomes (ARO) working group, which aims to develop research-to-practice activities to help disseminate intervention and prevention strategies to reduce AROs.

Manu Sharma is now a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Boston Groundwater Trust (BGwT).
