Awards and Announcements

 

Barbara D. Beck was awarded the Society of Toxicology (SOT) Metals Specialty Section Career Achievement Award at the SOT 62nd Annual Meeting for her achievements in the field of metals toxicology.

Joel M. Cohen was co-author on a poster awarded best in the Medical Device and Combination Product Specialty Section category of the scientific proceedings in the SOT 62nd Annual Meeting.  The title of the winning poster was “Characterization of the ISO Database of Reference Chemicals for Interlaboratory Studies to Demonstrate the Applicability of OECD Methods to Assess Skin Sensitization of Medical Devices.”

Joel M. Cohen was elected to serve as ​councilor of the SOT Computational Toxicology Specialty Section Executive Council.

Isaac Mohar was awarded Top 10 abstract in the Computational Toxicology Specialty Section category as part of the scientific proceedings in the SOT 62nd Annual Meeting. The title of the winning abstract was “Frameworks for In Silico Toxicity Screening of Novel Odorants.”

Ari Lewis was appointed to the US EPA Science Advisory Board (SAB) EJScreen Review Panel.

Matthew J. Mayo was re-elected as vice chair of the Lancaster, MA, Zoning Board of Appeals.

Andrew Yeh has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Adopt A Stream Foundation (AASF), a non-profit organization in the State of Washington that focuses on environmental education (e.g., wildlife biology and ecology) and stream restoration (e.g., removing physical barriers for fish migrating through streams).

Andrew Yeh will serve as senior councilor of the Pacific Northwest Association of Toxicologists (PANWAT) for the 2023-2024 term.

A. Dallas Wait was appointed as an expert to the American Herbal Product Association (AHPA) Botanical Safety Handbook Expert Advisory Council.
